Is Lottoland legit in the UK? I won £200 and they're making it hard to withdraw
-
Philosophy time: Why do we put ourselves through this aggravation for what amounts to pocket change? £200 is nice but the stress and time wasted chasing it probably isn't worth it.
That said, it's the principle of the matter. They owe you that money @lucy_wins

Lottoland's business model relies on people getting frustrated and walking away from smaller wins. It's calculated - they know most people won't fight over £50-£300.
For what it's worth, their scratch cards have decent RTP (around 95%) but the withdrawal experience is designed to be painful.

This thread has convinced me to avoid Lottoland completely. Are there any other lottery betting sites I should steer clear of?
-
@newbie_casino Generally avoid any lottery betting site that isn't backed by a major UK bookmaker. Stick to National Lottery, or the lottery sections of William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral etc.

UPDATE: The UKGC threat worked! Got an email this morning saying my withdrawal has been approved and should be in my account within 3-5 days.
Absolute joke that it took mentioning the regulator to get them to do what they should have done weeks ago.
-
@lucy_wins Result! Though it's pathetic that you had to threaten them to get your own winnings. This is exactly why their reputation is in the toilet.

The economics of complaint escalation is interesting. Let W = withdrawal amount, T = time cost, and S = success probability.
Expected value of escalation = (W × S) - (hourly_wage × T)
For smaller amounts, most people calculate it's not worth the hassle. That's exactly what these operators count on. It's a form of statistical theft - they know X% of people will give up, so they can effectively reduce their payout obligations by X%.
Brilliant business model if you have no soul.

Anyone else find it mental that we have to celebrate getting our own money back? This should be the bare minimum, not an achievement worth updating a forum thread about.
Glad you got sorted @lucy_wins but the whole situation is a disgrace.

Just stumbled across this thread - having similar issues with Lottoland over a £145 win from 3 weeks ago. Going to try the UKGC threat approach based on @lucy_wins success story.

@roulette_rob Good luck mate! Money finally hit my account yesterday so they do eventually pay up. Just shouldn't have to go through all this drama for it.
Sticking to Paddy Power and the National Lottery from now on.
